Stripe & Stare

World Earth Day 2026

This World Earth Day, we're is inviting you to re-think what you wear closest to your skin and its impact on the world around you.

“Underwear is something we all wear every day, yet few people consider its environmental footprint. This Earth Day, we’re proud to offer a better choice - products that feel good, fit well, and do good for the planet.

At Stripe & Stare, we’re all about comfort. Put-them-on-and-forget-you’re-wearing-them kind of comfort. Because honestly, we’ve got better things to do than deal with a wedgie. 98% of our customers say S&S are the most comfortable knickers they’ve ever worn.

But it is our belief that comfort shouldn’t come at the cost of the planet. We believe if we make products - especially products people wear every single day - we’ve got a responsibility to make it in the most responsible way we can. That’s why in our six-year R&D process; we poured our hearts into sourcing the most sustainable fibres we could find. Which by happy coincidence are also the softest.”

- Katie Lopes, Co-Founder.

Our Fabric

At Stripe & Stare, we keep things simple: better fabrics, better feel, and a lighter footprint on the planet

We are proud to be part of the 7% of the underwear market that are sustainably sourced.

Over 90% of our products are made using TENCEL™ Modal - a biodegradable fibre derived from sustainably sourced trees. Our signature knickers are crafted from 95% TENCEL™ Modal and 5% elastane, giving you that signature softness with just the right amount of stretch.

Our fibres are produced by Lenzing AG in Austria through carbon-neutral processes, and are backed by globally recognised certifications, including Eco Label, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, and FSC. TENCEL™ is fully biodegradable, meaning it returns safely to the environment at the end of its lifecycle.

Sustainability is just the beginning. TENCEL™ uses up to 95% less water than conventional cotton and is two to three times softer. Naturally breathable, moisture-wicking and antibacterial, it’s designed for everyday comfort - especially where it matters most.

No toxins. No nasties. Just breathable, skin-loving fabrics you can feel good in.

We’re always evolving, too. That’s why we’ve introduced two new fabric innovations: EcoVero™ Viscose, also by Lenzing, and Eco Mesh, made from 85% recycled polyamide - giving you even more conscious choices without compromising on comfort or style.

Looking after the planet

We know it’s not just about what we make - it’s how we do it.

As a certified B Corp since 2021, we’re proud to meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.

From fair wages and safe working conditions to plastic-free packaging and carbon-conscious logistics, we build sustainability into every stage of our supply chain, not as an add-on, but as a given.

We run a plastic-free warehouse, where all of our products are packaged and stored in cardboard boxes or compostable bio-bags. When your order reaches you, it arrives in recyclable paper envelopes or boxes.

We’re also proud to partner with Ecologi, a climate action platform we’ve supported since 2020. As of April 2026, we’ve helped plant over 158,000 trees and prevent more than 368 tonnes of CO₂ emissions through 49 verified carbon avoidance projects. These range from generating wind power in Thailand, Mexico and India to converting landfill gas into usable energy in Northern Turkey.

Closer to home, the energy powering our Devon warehouse and office is supplied by E.ON using 100% renewable sources, including solar, wind and hydro. Our shared London office runs on 100% renewable energy too - because every detail matters.

We're not interested in fast. We're not interested in disposable. We never have been.

The most sustainable pair of knickers are the ones you don't throw away after six washes.

Buy less. Buy better. Keep more. Wear the hell out of it.
