Stripe & Stare

What Do You Call Yours? Let’s Talk About Gynae Health with Lady Garden.

At Stripe & Stare, we’re all about celebrating confidence, comfort, and the things that make us feel good - inside and out. But there’s one topic that doesn’t always get the attention it deserves: gynae health. That’s why we’re thrilled to be teaming up with the incredible Lady Garden Foundation for our "What Do You Call Yours?" campaign, launching on 4th March.

This campaign is about more than just cheeky nicknames (though we love those too). It’s about starting a conversation, raising awareness, and breaking the stigma around gynaecological cancers. Because when it comes to our health, knowledge is power -and talking about it could save lives.

Why Gynae Health Matters

Did you know that gynaecological cancers - like ovarian, cervical, and uterine cancer - affect thousands of women every year? Despite this, they’re often overlooked in conversations about health. Many of us don’t know the symptoms to look out for, or we feel too embarrassed to talk about what’s going on "down there."

Here’s the thing: your gynae health is just as important as any other part of your body. And the more we talk about it, the more we can normalize these conversations, encourage early detection, and support vital research.

What Is the Lady Garden Foundation?

The Lady Garden Foundation is a phenomenal charity dedicated to raising awareness and funding for gynaecological health. Their mission is to break the taboos surrounding gynae cancers, empower women to take charge of their health, and support groundbreaking research that could save lives.

By partnering with Lady Garden, we’re helping to spread their message far and wide -because no one should feel ashamed or uninformed when it comes to their body.

Whether you’re discovering us for the first time or already have a drawer full of Stripe & Stare, this space is designed to help you find underwear you genuinely love wearing all day long.

What Do You Call Yours?

Let’s face it: we all have our own nicknames for down there. Whether it’s poonanie, pink taco or vajayjay (we think we’ve heard them all but we are always surprised by our communities creativity!), these names are a reflection of how we relate to our bodies. But how often do we actually talk about what’s going on with our lady gardens?

Our "What Do You Call Yours?" campaign is here to change that. We’re encouraging everyone to share their nicknames, start conversations, and help us raise awareness about gynae health. Because the more we talk, the more we can break the stigma - and the more lives we can save.

Know the Symptoms, Know Your Body

One of the most important parts of this campaign is education. Here are some common symptoms of gynaecological cancers to be aware of:

  • Unusual bleeding (between periods, after sex, or after menopause)
  • Persistent bloating or abdominal pain
  • Changes in discharge (colour, smell, or consistency)
  • Pain during sex
  • Frequent or urgent need to pee
  • Unexplained weight loss or fatigue

If you notice any of these symptoms, don’tignore them. Book an appointment with your GP and get checked out. Early detection can make all the difference.
