Product Journey - The Breton
Posted on October 06 2018
Okay, this one is a hero product for us and as such has made with the same love and care a brain surgeon or rocket scientist puts in. Here’s how it comes to life…
Our fabric is woven in Leicester from 100% cotton. The yarn we source meets Oeko-Tex standards for confidence in textiles. It basically means an outside world authority on textiles has said it is free of anything harmful – to the point where it is suitable for babies. The knitting factory turns the yarn into rolls of stripes.
We develop the fit and perfect shape with our garment production factory in Leicester. Phil, who runs the factory, has been in business for 40 years and is a UK institution in UK jersey manufacture. No-one knows more about making a tee than him. They take the rolls and cut and make into Bretons.
Our Breton is designed to be fitted to the body so great to wear by itself and as a layering piece. We advise going a size up for a more lose fit if that is the style you are after. We add a small slit in the side seam at the bottom and the back of the Breton is an inch longer than the front. This is all designed to create the most flattering shape possible.
We add our anchor embroidery on the bottom so you get your S+S seal and they are good to go!
